Noctilucent clouds are generally colorless or pale blue although occasionally other colors including red and green occur. The characteristic blue color comes from absorption by ozone in the path of the sunlight illuminating the noctilucent cloud.

You should really get this posted over at PS, I imagine it'd get a great response. I tried to do some noctilucents a couple of times before and got nowhere near as good results. You make me want to try again. :)
